Welcome to JourneeMan — a place where creativity, thought and expression come together.
JourneeMan began as a simple idea: to provide a place where local artists could share their work with people who might enjoy, appreciate or be inspired by it. That spirit remains at the heart of the site, but over time JourneeMan has grown into something broader — a place for photography, painting, music, writing, poetry, spoken word, reflection and other forms of creative expression.
The work here is varied because the people creating it are varied. There is no single style or medium. What connects it is the desire to create something worthwhile and then share it with others.
Dutchie — Photography
Dutchie has a particular love of photography, animals and the natural world.
He enjoys the whole photographic process, from finding the subject and capturing the moment through to producing the finished image. His interest in nature and wildlife provides a constantly changing source of inspiration, and the equipment and experience he has developed allow him to produce a wide range of images.
Take some time to explore his photography. You may discover something familiar from a different perspective — or something you have simply never noticed before.
Melody — Painting & Music
Melody is a young artist whose creativity finds expression through both painting and singing.
She has already sold some of her artwork and has performed at public and school programmes. Her creative work continues to develop, and she is available for singing engagements at suitable events.
Her paintings and music are expressions of her own developing artistic journey. If you enjoy her work, you can support her by sharing it, encouraging her, commissioning her where appropriate, or making a donation towards her continuing creative work.
JourneeMan — Writing, Thought & Creative Expression
JourneeMan is the writing and creative work of Malcolm Hore.
Writing has become a way of exploring life, faith, existence and the questions that sit beneath the surface of everyday experience.
Malcolm has written several books, including reflections arising from his years in prison and writings intended to offer encouragement and wisdom to his children. His published books are available through Amazon under Malcolm Hore.
But the writing does not stop with books.
Here you will find articles, theological reflections, philosophy, biblical studies, poetry and personal reflections, together with spoken-word pieces, music and other creative media developed from the original writing.
Some pieces ask difficult questions. Others explore faith and the person of Christ. Some wrestle with philosophy, existence, freedom, agency and what it means to live authentically. Others are simply creative expressions that emerged along the way.
The intention is not to tell you what to think.
It is to give you something worth thinking about.
More Than One Medium
One of the things that makes JourneeMan interesting is the way an idea can move between different forms.
A thought may begin as an article and become a poem.
A poem may become spoken word.
A reflection may become a song.
A photograph may stand entirely on its own, or provide the visual setting for another work.
The medium changes, but the creative impulse remains.
That is why JourneeMan is not simply a collection of articles or an art gallery. It is a developing body of creative work.
